The barge of Convivencia festival will sail again on the waves of canal du midi from Saturday July 2 to Tuesday July 26, 2022. Every year, Turmoil drops anchor in several ports and locks and transforms his bridge on concert stage with artists from all over the world.
For this 26e editing, 11 stopovers are planned in four departments of Occitanieincluding four in municipalities in Lauragais.
After Montech (82) and Grisolles (82), the boat will stop at Port Sud de Ramonville-Saint-Agne Tuesday, July 5 with, in the first part, the group of traditional Occitan music Remenilhe at 7:30 p.m.
will follow Occitan polyphonies of barrut at 8 p.m. and the concert of Derya Yildirim & Grup Simsek at 9:30 p.m.; the alliance of traditional Anatolian music, psychedelic music from the 70s and contemporary groove. “Led by the singing and the Saz of Derya Yildirim, a young musician of rare charisma, Grup Simsek breathes new life into the pearls of popular Turkish music,” underline the organizers of the Convivencia festival.
The pink city will host the festival on the following two evenings then, on Saturday July 9, Turmoil will stop at Castanet-Tolosan lock. Mr Doumania Cypriot trio, will offer electric and tribal folklore based on traditional island music at 8 p.m.
The Ghanaian group Lipstick queens ft. St Beryl will follow at 9:30 p.m. The meeting between a gospel, soul, pop formation and a blues composer.
The Convivencia festival will stop at Ayguesvives, at the Sanglier lock, on Monday 11 July. The concert will begin with Ana Carla Maza at 8 p.m., singer and cellist born in Cuba.
The singer Dafne Kritharas will take to the barge stage at 9.30 p.m. Endowed with a sublime voice, the Franco-Greek artist will offer a wide repertoire of jazz, folk, Greek rebetiko and Balkan songs.
Meeting at the lock of Renneville Wednesday, July 13 at 9:30 p.m. to attend the concert of Votiaa traditional maloya group, around the artist of Reunionese origin Marie-Claude Lambert-Phileas. Note that a heritage bike ride will be offered from 5:30 p.m.
Turmoil will then head to the Aude with steps to The Redorte, paraza, The Somail and eventually reach Herault with a final stop at Frontignan.
The festival radio will broadcast his live show from the barge from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. during all stages.
Stands of winegrowers, intervention with Ehpad, performances, exhibitions, openings and creation of a itinerant work on the festival barge are also on the program.
