While the Lensois will return to the field on Monday, they will welcome two additional teammates. To deal with the probable departures of their two essential midfielders Cheick Doucouré and Seko Fofana, the Lensois leaders have set their sights on the Clermontois Salis Abdul Samed. The defensive midfielder of Clermont Foot (22 years old, 1.80m), had a very interesting first Ligue 1 season when he had only played 11 Ligue 2 games in total the two previous seasons. The Ghanaian was one of Pascal Gastien’s basic men. He played 31 including 29 as a starter and was the fourth most used man among the Clermontois (2468 minutes).

Trained at the Jean-Marc Guillou Academy before arriving in Clermont in 2019, he quickly adapted. Last year, he was the most skilful (91.7% of successful passes) but also the 10th Ligue 1 player to perform the most pressings (641). While he’s under contract until 2025, RCL penned a check for €5m (plus bonuses) to sign him to a five-year deal.

On the club’s website, Arnaud Pouille, the general manager, believes that Salis Abdul Samed is ”
a complete midfielder, whose physical skills and technical qualities are highly developed for his age. “.

For Florent Ghisolfi (sporting director): “

He was our priority at the post. He is a player who has a high volume of play and running, and a lot of intensity. Salis is a complete midfielder, influential in both defensive and offensive aspects, but whose development potential remains significant. His qualities, his commitment and his generosity fully include Salis in our project.

The arrival of Congolese goalkeeper Brice Samba (28 years old, 1.86m) is also becoming clearer. While he did not wish to extend with Nottingham Forest, which nevertheless reaches the Premier League, Brice Samba, under contract until June 2023, is waiting to be released by his club to join Artois where he will find his former goalkeeping coach at Le Havre, Hervé Sekli. Nottingham Forest did not want to part with their number 1 goalkeeper, who played 45 games last season, before having the assurance of being able to replace him. It now seems done, since he obtained the loan of Manchester United goalkeeper, Dean Henderson, according to the Daily Mail. It remains to be seen what the order of the goalkeepers will be at Racing as Jean-Louis Leca attacks his last year of contract and Wuilker Farinez, called to be number 1, is seriously injured (ruptured cruciate ligaments).
