The Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge has unveiled a very original new painting: a portrait of Kate Middleton and Prince William by artist Jamie Coreth.

If you want to see the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, all you have to do is go… to the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge! A portrait of Kate Middleton and prince william adorns the walls of the institution devoted to art. The painting was unveiled Thursday, June 23 on the web. We see children in front of the painting which represents Kate Middleton in a long green dress with puffy sleeves, her hair down and the prince william dressed in a black suit with a blue tie, his left hand in his pocket and the right placed delicately behind his wife’s back. A work larger than life: some internet users thought for a moment that it was a photograph.
The painting is signed by the artist Jamie Coreth, a portrait specialist. Illustrious characters, but also perfect strangers that he immortalizes through painting. The work was commissioned by the Cambridgeshire Royal Portrait Fund, which aims to inspire young people to take an interest in art “in all its forms”, can we read on Facebook. The official account of the British Royal Family states that Kate and William were present at the inauguration.

A portrait that makes the British people smile and reinforces the popularity of the couple. Indeed, the Duke of Cambridge is second in the ranking of the most popular personalities of the royal family, right behind his grandmother. His wife Kate Middleton is in third place, with 60% positive opinions, against 13% negative opinions. The proof that they are (almost) unanimous!
